Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

Once a year, Nobel Laureates convene in Lindau to meet the next generation of leading scientists; 500–600 undergraduates, PhD students, and post-doc researchers from all over the world. The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings offers young scientist a unique opportunity to meet scientists from different generations, cultures, and disciplines.

Young scholars from Swedish universities are invited to apply for participation at the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings 2020, with co-funding provided by Ragnar Söderbergs stiftelse.  

Applications are administered by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (links below). A limited number of candidates are nominated from Sweden and the Lindau Review Panel makes the final selection of participants.


Two meetings will be held in the summer of 2020: one interdisciplinary meeting for scientists across natural science disciplines and one in economic sciences

Each summer, around 30-40 Nobel Laureates meet with the next generation of leading scientists from around the world — on the island of Lindau by Lake Constance in south Germany — to educate, inspire and connect .
Selected candidates from Swedish universities receive full funding covering travel and participation from Ragnar Söderbergs stiftelse and the Foundation Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings.
