Who am I?
I come from a small town south of Gothenburg. My childhood and teen years were all about school and football and friends. I enjoyed school from the start and found that the natural sciences were far more interesting than geography and history etc. So, after the compulsory school I chose the natural science program and after my graduation I continued at the University of Gothenburg and spent four years learning molecular biology. I received my M.Sc in Molecular Biology in 1998 and the same year I started my PhD education and defended my thesis in May 2004. After my dissertation I have continued with research and I now hold a position as researcher at the Institute of Medicine at the University of Gothenburg.
I met my husband in 1994 during that magical summer when Sweden got a bronze medal in football. We have three children (born 2002, 2004 and 2009) and we are very happy that both our daughters play football and we hope that our son will find football entertaining as well when he is old enough to try… Besides coaching my oldest daughter´s football team, I like to spend my leisure time with my family, read books and watch movies. When it comes to books, and also movies, I enjoy science fiction. I think we have an almost complete collection of books written by D. Koontz…
